Since rain caused us to cancel last year’s visit to Ravine Gardens State Park to see the azaleas, we’re looking forward to going there for February’s Home and Garden club event. In case you’re not familiar with Ravine Gardens, located in Palatka (about an hour’s drive from here), it is one of the most beautiful places to visit when azaleas are in peak bloom! As a state park, there is a gate fee of $5.00/carload; once there, individuals can hike the Azalea Trail (if the weather is good), or drive the Main Park Loop.
On February 23, plan to meet at the Deercreek Pool parking lot at 9:00am to carpool to Ravine Gardens. We’ll arrive around 10:00 am, take about an hour to visit the gardens (walking or driving) and then head over to a local restaurant for lunch! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and plan to wear your mask while there. All Home & Garden Club members and first-time guests are invited to the tour and lunch. Please RSVP to deercreekhgc@gmail.com to confirm your attendance.
