A heartfelt Thank You to the Deercreek community for supporting and participating in Home and Garden Club events this past season! A few highlights include August’s Golden Acorn Award luncheon honoring Deercreek resident Jan Malick for her charitable activities benefiting our community and the greater Jacksonville area; September’s Get Real! Organized presentation by Kayleen Kelly, a local organizing and redesign expert, inspiring us to improve our home spaces; December’s Night of Luminaries event on the clubhouse circle for all Deercreek families; February’s Ravine Gardens visit to see azaleas in bloom, and April’s fundraising Soiree by the Sea spring fashion show, featuring fashions from Leila’s Boutique modeled by Home and Garden Club members. We are pleased to announce that our raffle items (jewelry, designer handbags, and gift baskets) raised money contributing to our annual Deercreek beautification projects. This year we are adding pavers under the concrete benches we previously placed around the lake along Deercreek Club Road!
We also want to extend our thanks to two special chairpersons who are stepping down from their responsibilities this year. Cary Flynn has shepherded our annual fashion show fundraising event for the past few years, among other leadership roles in our club. Brenda Edwards has organized our meetings and outings for the last five years, keeping us informed and inspired. A big Thanks to both of you!
