Tom & Peggy Cason
11151 Chester Lake Road W
After visiting friends here for many years, Tom and Peggy Cason relocated from Texas in 2022, renting here until they found their ‘forever home’ in March 2024. They spent 6 months renovating inside and out, finally settling in last month. What attracted them to Deercreek, Peggy says, “When you drive into the neighborhood, the trees and plants are well maintained, lush and inviting.“ They also liked the safety of a gated community with club amenities to keep them active.
Both Tom and Peggy retired from State Farm Insurance. Their four children are scattered around the globe from TN to NY to NJ and to Uganda in Africa. They are blessed with 10 grandchildren, ages 3-18.
The Casons enjoy working in their yard, and their large corner lot provides many areas to tackle. Almost all of the existing greenery has been replaced with what they hoped were deer resistant plants. Unfortunately, they have already learned the hard way— a few of the new plants were sampled by deer but were rescued and relocated to the fenced yard.
Their vision is ‘a splash of color’ among a wide variety of greenery. New trees include palms— Christmas, Queen, Robelleni, and Sylvester out front, with hedges and Ilex with Pentas, Vincas, and mini-Azaleas to add that color splash. Along the side yard, they chose Hibiscus, Coleus, White Bird of Paradise, Oleander, Salvia and Blue Daze (that we know is deer resistant). More Robelleni palms, seasonal Impatiens, and yellow Ixora fill the enclosed bed behind the pool.
Assisting with their transformation, Roberto Cruz & company have been instrumental and will continue to maintain the property.
The Casons participate in couples golf and enjoy meals and events at the club. They look forward to much more golf and meeting their newest neighbors.
