Elevate Your Table, a Tablescape Demonstration by Barbara Ondo Designs
The Home and Garden Club’s October program was an interesting presentation by Barbara Ondo Designs, a local interior design firm. Barbara Ondo Morrison and her daughter Caeligh Morrison demonstrated how to make ‘centerpieces’, using baskets, serving pieces and other decorative objects in the home. Each table in the Deercreek clubroom had a different ‘tablescape’ on it, and the presenters provided tips and tricks for making them.
As a bonus, the Deercreek’s Comfort N Quilters group, who makes and gives quilts to pediatric patients in local hospitals, held a quilt sale to raise funds for buying supplies for future quilts. At the end of the meeting, Marcia Rose, a Home and Garden Club member, asked those present to donate money to buy some quilts to be sent to devastated areas in North Carolina; enough funds were donated by members to buy 8 quilts, and the quilters donated another 12 quilts, so that 20 quilts were headed to help in North Carolina!
