From the Access Control Committee

Jul 31, 2024

School is starting. That means students walking to and waiting at bus stops at various times in the morning. If taking a student to the bus stop, please do not block driveways, park on other residents’ lawns or within 50 feet of a stop sign obstructing it. Also, the start of school is a time of stress. Please be courteous to others.

  • A car was recently burgled/broke into in Edgewater and several things taken. Lesson learned: Deercreek is a restricted access community, not a secure one. Keep vehicles locked at all times, and DO NOT keep valuables in vehicles.
  • Please remind visitors that the speed limit in Deercreek is 30 miles per hour that is checked by certified RADAR. JSO also issues citations here. Visitors who are driving are also required to have a valid drivers’ license with them. There are no exceptions to that rule.
Just a reminder to please DO NOT put recycle items in the bin in bags. That hinders the sorting process at the facility.
  • Another reminder is if driving through the visitor’s lane at the gate, and it is raining, please turn off windshield wipers so as not to get the guard wet or the equipment used there wet.
  • Important: In order to protect the Home Owner’s Association from liability in case there is a golf cart accident, all owners of golf carts in Deercreek are required to have liability insurance for their golf carts either as a club member or non-club member. Club members have their own process which runs from January 1 to December 31. Non—club members liability insurance year runs from October 1 to September 30 of each year. Failure to comply with the requirement not only places the HOA at potential risk, but it will result in a $100 fine to the resident owner.

More information about the insurance requirement will be published in coming weeks.
