Living at Deercreek, we have a plethora of birds! In the spring, we see the more common species, such as cardinals, in our yards and trees. In the summer, we may have the tiniest hummingbirds zipping among our trees, and in the fall and winter, we have great flocks of waterfowl – geese (honk, honk), egrets, and birds of prey. And every season, we probably think/say at least once, “What kind of bird is that?”
Attend this month’s Home and Garden Club meeting to hear Carol Bailey White, from the Duval Audubon Society, present “Backyard Birds of Northeast Florida”. Learn how to identify the birds we frequently see in our backyards!
There is no charge for this program; however, a donation jar will be available for anyone who wishes to make a voluntary donation.
Special Event at the meeting!
Comfort n’ Quilters will display their hand-crafted quilts in our room, giving us the opportunity to buy a quilt and support their charity at the same time! The quilting group, including three Home and Garden Club members (Mary Lou Roberts, Maryann Grauwiler, and Jan Walter) sews over 150 quilts a year to give to young cancer patients at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children’s Health, and Seamark Ranch. Buying a quilt at this special event provides Comfort n’ Quilters cash to purchase quilting supplies.
