Who WAS Cassie Chadwick?
Cassie Chadwick was known as the Queen of the Con, the Duchess of Diamonds, and the High Priestess of Fraudulent Finance. Born in 1857, Elizabeth Bigsley, a Canadian farm girl, ended up bilking hundreds of people out of millions of dollars as Cassie Chadwick. Dubbed “The Most Dangerous Woman in America.” her Cleveland trial in 1905 was the “trial of the century.” Was she a shrewd businesswoman or a criminal guilty of conspiracy to defraud the government? Decide for yourself.
