It is my honor to serve as the Deercreek Home and Garden Club’s President for 2020-21. Last year ended on a strange
note for sure, with the cancellation of many of our favorite events due to the COVID-19 virus. I am excited to put the
past behind us and make this coming year fun and productive!
As we head into a new year, I would like to take the time to remind everyone of the accomplishments of the past years.
• The gifting of the flagpoles in front of the Clubhouse
• The adding of more than 200 trees through a group purchase program.
• The planting of the screen of viburnum shrubs on the Northside of Deercreek Club Road.
• Established the Golden Acorn Award to acknowledge exemplary community residents.
• Purchased and lighted the deer statues on Southside Blvd and throughout the community.
• Added uplighting to the magnolias in the Deercreek Club Road median.
• Constructed a ramp connecting the handicapped parking with the playground.
• Funded the re-landscaping and lighting of the entrance median of Deercreek.
• Improved the areas surrounding our mailboxes with stepping stones and mulch.
• Funded community benches.
The hard work of our members is inspiring, our community is full of talented and gifted people. Please feel free to
contact anyone on the Board with ideas for fundraising or projects. Let us be the strongest advocates for the Deercreek
community.
I am looking forward to participating with you in this year’s program. There are lots of opportunities for learning and
fun. Please note we have added a few extra evening events for those who work. I can’t wait to see you there!
