Our resident gardener, Lorraine Clancy, retired in 2013 and put herself to work right away for our Garden Club, refurbishing the urn at the Guard House on a regular schedule. She has also kept herself occupied cleaning tree spaces around the Deercreek/Vineyard circle.

By 2020 she planted a flower garden adjacent to the sidewalk near the 8th hole. Located at the intersection of Orchard Hills Rd and Vineyard Lake N, this small patch has grown yearly with more blooms, much greenery, and shrubs around the perimeter.

In November, she added colorful crotons, coleus, lantana, and yellow daisies with more vinca and sedum. Ah, but this year she has outdone herself! The Home and Garden Club invites all walkers, joggers, and casual strollers who pass the 8th hole to take a water break (along with the ducks and wading birds ) and sit in the two lovely arched benches that face the lake, the green, and the trees.

What a beautiful picture!
