Mark and Meagan Toney
7853 Groveton Hills Place
The Toneys moved from St. Johns County to Deercreek for our more central location for work, school, and family. They started decorating their first Halloween here in 2020. The girls, Saira, 7, and Emily, 5, jumped right in, hanging the scary ghosts in the bushes. Each year they have added to their Halloween décor. This year floating candles have been added to the mix of almost 50 objects, mostly clustered on the porch.
Lighted jack-o-lanterns welcome trick or treaters along the walkway, along with a haunted tree. A great owl perched in a tree near the door (not seen in the picture) howls and spins his head. The haunted doorbell watches all who dare to come and beware–anyone who wanders too close squeals and jumps when the bell talks.
It’s a tie for the parents’ favorite between the lifelike gargoyles and the giant spider…just because it’s a very giant spider! The girls love Yoda who keeps falling down while being photographed. Yoda’s power can’t stop the wind.
The Toneys’ Halloween décor will still be up and lighted on the nights of November 1-2, so please bring the whole family to see them. From the neighborhood circle, proceed down the long part of Bishop Lake about two blocks. You can’t miss the humongous monster on the right corner!
