Meet your Board of Director Candidates 2023

Friends and Neighbors, I would like to thank you in advance for the consideration to serve our beautiful community through the Board for Deercreek HOA. My wife, Candace and I have called Deercreek home since mid-2020. We have two adult sons, DJ (21), in college locally and Grant (19) who is pursuing his passions in the automotive industry. I have had the privilege of serving on the Finance committee for almost 2 years under the tutelage of both Bryan Howell and John Joyce. I’m grateful for their community service as well as their willingness to share their broad knowledge of both financial matters and the rich history of Deercreek. Professionally, I have enjoyed a 22+ year career at CSX progressing through the IT organization in many roles, most currently as Head of Architecture and IT Services. I also serve at the executive sponsor for our Science Technology Engineering Arts & Mathematics Business Resource Group (STEAM BRG) at CSX. Additionally, I have the honor of volunteering on the Board of Directors for the Northeast Florida STEM2Hub serving alongside many executives from the Northeast Florida region helping to raise awareness for STEM activities and creating an equal playing field for youth in underserved communities. I hold a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Florida State University with a minor in Computer Science. Additionally, I completed the University of Maryland – Robert H. Smith School of Business Executive Leadership Program and have a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Leadership from Jacksonville University. I am a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies, was selected as JU College of Davis Top 40 Talent, as well Outstanding Student of the Year. I would be honored to help serve our community on our board and thank you again for your consideration.

My wife, Mary, and I have lived in Deercreek since 1990.  During those 32+ years I worked with the original developer, the transition team to our HOA, many committees and am currently serving on the HOA board.  Mary and I have watched Deercreek grow and become a beautiful, diversified community.  There are many reasons why people want to live here, and I believe every resident deserves to have a voice in any major decisions.  The HOA Board is responsible for keeping Deercreek a premier community by following and enforcing the Covenants & Rules and to budget and spend your dues wisely.  I believe that we must follow the Covenants and maintain the high standards we all expect by choosing to live in this HOA community.

10-year Resident and Founding Member of Deercreek Golf Club since 2012.   I have served on the HOA compliance committee and continue to serve on the ARB committee.    Consistently encourage approvals that improve our neighbors’ homes and value of our gated community while maintaining the covenant rules.   I believe in being neighborly in decisions and posing as small a burden to homeowners that want to maintain and improve their properties.   I thought it necessary to bring this approach to the ARB several years ago when a good neighbors project was held up for a year.   I also believe the Deercreek club is an asset to our Gated Community and will work to achieve a benevolent relationship.   I am retired from the Automotive Industries previously working on Heavy Equipment Axles & Brakes, Automotive Engine components, Automotive interior mechanism and Interiors design, and Operations.    and Automotive Lead Acid, and Lithium-Ion Batteries.   I continue to apply engineering aptitudes helping friends and neighbors with home maintenance, vehicles, and golf carts.   Susan and I are married 35 yrs.  Our daughters Reagan and Katherine have begun their professional careers after graduating from Auburn and FSU.  Prior to moving to Deercreek I was the President of our HOA for 5 years at our neighborhood in Ann Arbor Michigan.

Number of years lived in Deercreek:  My wife and I living since we moved here in Sep 2019 and Lived in Jacksonville around Southside Blvd. for 21 years. Job and educational experience which will make me a qualified Board member:  I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP Certified from Project Management Institute) and managed teams spread across the globe for the biggest financial bank in USA. I graduated in Electronics and Communications engineering.  Upon graduation, I immediately began employment in Information Technology and was responsible for overseeing the operations of several information technology engineers and their well-being. I did own and managed few restaurants like Flavors Indian Restaurant and 5thElement Indian Restaurant for several years in Jacksonville and Tampa. I served in IRONWOOD HOA board for several years as Vice president, Treasurer and Board Director. Currently serving as Treasurer for one of the Hindu Temple SSSSNEFL (Shri Shirdi Sai Society of Northeast Florida) in Jacksonville. Quality and Culture which will help me to be a great Board member:   Prior to moving to Jacksonville, my wife and I lived in other countries like Switzerland, Singapore and Canada where we got an opportunity to experience and adopt different cultures across different nations.  We were actively involved in all the community activities where different cultures are part of the events. I would like to serve on the Deercreek Country Club Board and like to be involved as a force for change to bring improvements to the neighborhood.  While there are numerous benefits to living in Deercreek, there I still things I would like to see changed or addressed.
