Greg and Linda Mohart
10065 Deercreek Club Road East
Greg and Linda Mohart, originally from Buffalo, NY and seeking warmer weather, relocated to Orange Park in 1980. Both Realtors, they work at Florida Homes Realty & Mortgage. Deciding to move to Deercreek, they purchased their home in early 2020 and remodeled it before moving in that spring Their two daughters also live in Deercreek, on Cypress Lakes Drive (Shawn and Alison Fruh and Ernie and Emily Muino). They are blessed to have their grandchildren nearby, with three attending Holy Family Catholic School and one at Bishop Kenny High School.
The Moharts have single-handedly revived their yard after much prior neglect. They created a refreshing tableau with plants in a variety of colors, sizes and shapes. The original trees include two kinds of holly and a large oak. New plants include a bottlebrush tree, Loropetalums, thin and thick-leaved irises, a half-dozen yellow Golden Dewdrops, Suzuki azaleas, and a few variegated pittosporums along with deer-resistant blue daze as ground cover.
Their front walkway is showcased by two large Ligustrum topiaries that they brought from their former home. A ring of small pink-petaled flowers add color. At their front door, a large pot of yellow mums along with a pair of tall snake plants and lanterns fill the area. Baskets of red Crown of Thorns are mounted to the side walls to complete a perfect picture.
Victor Genshi, of K & V Lawn Care, helps with planting and keeps the lawn in tip-top shape, expertly trimming greenery as well as mowing and edging.
Linda says that the best part of living in Deercreek is seeing her family daily and meeting neighbors who walk by. Two balls of white fur, Shih Tzus, Baby and Balla, enjoy saying hello with their barks.
