Karla and Matt Adcox chose Deercreek in 2015, seeking a larger home for their growing family, soon to welcome a second son. They wanted to be close to town and schools with an emphasis on ample space for the boys to play outdoors. “We loved the mature trees, golf course views, many lakes and the sidewalks,” says Karla. The security of a gated entry sealed the deal.
The Adcoxes own and operate a home renovation and interior design company, Lifestyle Homes, and have served several customers in the neighborhood with their home renovation needs. Their boys, Baize and Greyson, now 12 and 9, play baseball and attend Christ Church Academy.
Lawn care is truly a family affair as all four can be seen regularly planting, weeding, edging, and watering. Older son, Baize, soon to be a teenager, has moved on from these mundane tasks to training for the top job, the mower! What Karla enjoys most about her yard is bringing more color and interest to the exterior of her home with the expertise of “her guys”.
Earlier this year the flower beds were revamped with the assistance of Cruz Landscaping who continues throughout the year trimming and maintaining the large trees and shrubs. In the beds that flank the front, the Adcox team has planted a mix of Oleander in the background, majestic yellow Canna Lilies in the middle, and variegated Flax Lilies at the base. A pair of black urns with tiny white flowering groundcover decorates the entrance. Along the garage on the left and on the right side of the home there are mixes of stacked shrubs including Azaleas, Loropetalum, Lantana, with deer resistant Blue Daze sprinkled throughout. Two stately palms in the yard and white crepe myrtles near the street complete a lovely picture.
The family has been bitten by the pickle ball bug and can be seen playing along with most of the rest of Deercreek!
