Congratulations to Denise Harkins, September’s Deercreek View honoree! Denise, residing at 8136 Suffield Court, has lived in Deercreek since 1993. Her home is very attractively landscaped with manicured plantings along the front and sides of her house, creating the contrast of bright green shrubs against the beautiful blue of her house.
Recently, Denise has updated her residence by removing a large magnolia tree to provide more sunshine in her yard, painting her house and installing a new driveway. Through the years, she has updated her landscape with deer resistant shrubs, mainly azaleas. Her backyard backs up to the nature preserve, thus creating a more flowing expanse. In addition to the azaleas, she has two satsuma (mandarin orange) trees, which produce delicious oranges. Of special note, on the left side of her house, is a banana tree with an Angel’s trumpet plant which is blooming profusely now after suffering frost damage last winter, and dancing lady ginger plants providing bright coral blooms.
